**Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB)** is refreshing the rewards program on its **Cashback Covered Card** from **5 July 2026**. The headline 10% online rate stays — but the cashback grid below it is being rewired: a wider 0.5% "specific merchants" list, a new 0.3% line for European Economic Area (EEA) currency spends, and a sharper boundary between domestic and international retail.

If you already hold the card, this is the most material change to its earning structure since launch. If you're shopping for a UAE cashback card, it changes the math on whether SIB is your best primary or a sidekick to your everyday card.

## What's changing on 5 July 2026

| Spend bucket | New rate | Monthly cap |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Online + digital wallet (saved cards on websites/apps, Samsung Wallet, Apple Pay) — local and international, **excluding** specific merchants and EEA | **10%** | **AED 300** |
| International retail (excluding EEA) | **2%** | No cap |
| Domestic retail | **1%** | No cap |
| Specific merchants (see below) | **0.5%** | No cap |
| EEA currency spends | **0.3%** | No cap |

The "specific merchants" bucket has grown well beyond the old utilities-grocery-education trio. From 5 July it covers: education, government services, utilities, supermarkets, petrol stations, real estate agents, quick-service (fast food) restaurants, insurance, auto and car dealers (including service centres and parts), public transport (taxis, metro, buses), road tolls and Salik, and charities or religious organisations.

The 0.3% EEA line is brand new — previously EEA spend earned 2% as part of "international". If you frequently shop in EUR, SEK, DKK, NOK, PLN or CHF, that's a real cut.

## Continued perks — JUMBO and EROS

The card's existing retailer offers run through year-end:

- **10% off at JUMBO and EROS** — minimum AED 1,000 spend per transaction, capped at AED 200 each, valid through **31 December 2026**.
- Free unlimited airport lounge access at 10+ lounges across the UAE, KSA, Jordan, Kuwait and Egypt via the Mastercard Travel Pass app.
- 24/7 Mastercard concierge for travel and lifestyle requests.
