SIB Cashback Card 2026 Refresh: 10% Online, EEA and Specific Merchant Rates Explained

Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) is refreshing the rewards program on its Cashback Covered Card from 5 July 2026. The headline 10% online rate stays — but the cashback grid below it is being rewired: a wider 0.5% "specific merchants" list, a new 0.3% line for European Economic Area (EEA) currency spends, and a sharper boundary between domestic and international retail.

If you already hold the card, this is the most material change to its earning structure since launch. If you're shopping for a UAE cashback card, it changes the math on whether SIB is your best primary or a sidekick to your everyday card.

What's changing on 5 July 2026

The "specific merchants" bucket has grown well beyond the old utilities-grocery-education trio. From 5 July it covers: education, government services, utilities, supermarkets, petrol stations, real estate agents, quick-service (fast food) restaurants, insurance, auto and car dealers (including service centres and parts), public transport (taxis, metro, buses), road tolls and Salik, and charities or religious organisations.

The 0.3% EEA line is brand new — previously EEA spend earned 2% as part of "international". If you frequently shop in EUR, SEK, DKK, NOK, PLN or CHF, that's a real cut.

Continued perks — JUMBO and EROS

The card's existing retailer offers run through year-end:

  • 10% off at JUMBO and EROS — minimum AED 1,000 spend per transaction, capped at AED 200 each, valid through 31 December 2026.
  • Free unlimited airport lounge access at 10+ lounges across the UAE, KSA, Jordan, Kuwait and Egypt via the Mastercard Travel Pass app.
  • 24/7 Mastercard concierge for travel and lifestyle requests.

Should you apply?

If you're an online-heavy spender who can saturate the AED 300 monthly cap, the refreshed SIB Cashback Card remains one of the strongest free-tier cashback cards in the UAE for digital spend. Use our credit card calculator to model your own categories and see whether SIB lands at the top of your stack, or sits below a card with stronger grocery, dining or travel rates.

The refreshed cashback structure takes effect on 5 July 2026 for both new and existing cardholders.

10% cashback on online and digital wallet spends is capped at AED 300 per month — the cap is hit at AED 3,000 of eligible spend, worth up to AED 3,600 per year.

Education, government services, utilities, supermarkets, petrol stations, real estate agents, quick-service restaurants, insurance, auto and car dealers, public transport (taxis, metro, buses), road tolls and Salik, and charities or religious organisations.

EEA-currency spends (EUR, SEK, DKK, NOK, PLN, CHF and other European zone currencies) now earn a dedicated 0.3% — previously they were lumped into the 2% international retail rate.

The AED 199 annual fee is free for the first year and waived in subsequent years if your annual spend on the card exceeds AED 10,000. Minimum salary is AED 8,000.
