Mashreq NEO On Arrival is an AED account with a digital debit card for visitors on a UAE visit visa. It runs for up to 180 days, then closes itself.
Mashreq NEO On Arrival is a temporary AED account for tourists and visitors, so that you can pay without cash during your stay. You fund it by sending money from your own bank account in your home country. You then spend with a digital Visa debit card online and in shops, withdraw cash, and send local transfers from the Mashreq Mobile App, including Aani instant payments if you have a UAE-registered mobile number. There is no minimum balance and the account pays no interest. The card is digital only. You have to add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet before you can use it. If you later become a resident, this account ends and a standard account such as the NEO Current Account is the next step.

A valid passport is required to apply.
None
Digital Visa Debit Card
A digital debit card is issued when the account opens and is used through Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Four Free ATM Withdrawals a Month
Up to 4 cash withdrawals per calendar month at Mashreq ATMs in the UAE are free.
Local Transfers and Aani
Send money within the UAE from the Mashreq Mobile App, including Aani instant payments.
Visitors with at least a week left on their visa who want to pay by phone, withdraw dirhams from ATMs and send local payments.
You need to send money out of the UAE, since international transfers and international beneficiaries are not allowed, or you want any other Mashreq product, which this account does not make you eligible for. Residents can compare current accounts.
You must be physically in the UAE on a visit visa, hold a valid passport and be 18 or older. The visa needs at least 7 days of validity left on the day you apply. With fewer than 7 days remaining the account cannot be opened, so apply early in your trip.
Closure is automatic. It starts 7 days after whichever of these comes first: 180 days from the day the account opened, the visa expiry date you gave when you opened it, your exit from the UAE, or your status changing from visitor to resident. Exit and residency are reported to Mashreq through Emirates Face Recognition. Extending your visa does not move the date, because only the expiry date given at opening counts. Those 7 days are your grace period to spend or withdraw what is left, using the card or an ATM.
A leftover balance under AED 50 goes to Emirates Nature-WWF, a charity Mashreq has designated. You consent to this when you open the account and are not asked again. If more than AED 50 is left, the account is frozen. To get the money, email onarrival@mashreq.com with your home-country bank account details and your last three months' bank statement. After the documents are verified, the transfer can take up to 7 business days and is sent only to your own bank account in your home country.
