Liv Cashback+ Credit Card Review (2026)

Up to 4% cashback and lounge access for a AED 735 fee. Our review of when the Liv Cashback+ Credit Card is — and isn't — worth it.

Liv Cashback+ Credit Card Review (2026)

Liv Cashback+ is the paid sibling of the free Liv Cashback card: a AED 735 annual fee buys tiers up to 4% cashback above AED 15,000 of monthly spend, a AED 1,500 monthly cap, and airport lounge access. Whether that fee is worth it comes down almost entirely to how much you spend each month.

This review covers the tiers, the break-even math, and a documented redemption gap worth knowing before you rely on the card's marketed "instant redemption."

Design & First Impressions

Cashback+ takes the same minimal template as the base card and flips it to black, with the "liv" logo rendered in gold instead of black — a small, deliberate visual cue that this is the paid tier.

Rewards: How the Tiers Work

  • 1% below AED 7,000/month spend
  • 2% from AED 7,000/month
  • 4% from AED 15,000/month
  • 0.1% on government, utilities, travel and transportation
  • Monthly cap: AED 1,500
  • Redeemable as cashback or Skywards Miles (up to 10,000/month)

Break-Even: Is the Fee Worth It?

The AED 735 fee clears in roughly three months once monthly spend consistently exceeds AED 15,000, where the 4% tier applies. Below AED 15,000, the free Liv Cashback card is usually the better default — Cashback+'s higher tiers don't clear its own fee premium at lower spend.

Kredit Rating: 3.4/5 · Good

At an assumed AED 9,000/month of spend:

Rewards return — Good. About 1.7% effective, roughly AED 1,886/year at this spend level — the 4% tier only kicks in well above it.

Cost efficiency — Excellent. The AED 735 fee is the real, certain cost. The added FX line item (~AED 159/year) is Kredit's standardized comparison assumption, not a specific prediction of your international spend.

Benefit value — Fair. 8 airport lounge visits a year (gated on a quarterly foreign-currency transaction) and 3 cinema tickets a month add roughly AED 1,590/year.

Reward coverage — Excellent. Like the base card, the flat-rate-by-tier structure covers most everyday categories.

Accessibility — Very good. A AED 15,000 minimum salary is above the market's lowest bars, but attainable for established earners.

Bottom line — Good. Nets to roughly AED 2,582/year — about 2.4% of assumed annual spend. We're holding the published score a touch below the engine's raw suggestion: a documented user-reported redemption experience described cashback taking several days rather than the marketed "instant" redemption, and it briefly posted to the wrong account before Liv support corrected it. It's a single account, not a repeated pattern, but it directly contradicts a headline marketing claim.

Final Thoughts: Who Should Get This Card?

  • Spenders whose monthly card spend consistently clears AED 15,000
  • Anyone who wants airport lounge access bundled with their cashback card
  • Existing Liv Cashback holders whose spend has genuinely outgrown the free tier

Skip it if your monthly spend is usually below AED 15,000 — the free Liv Cashback is the simpler, cheaper default — or if you're relying on redemption being instant.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Get answers to common questions about credit cards, applications, and managing your finances in the UAE

Only if your monthly spend consistently clears AED 15,000, where the 4% cashback tier and the lounge access both kick in. Below that, the free Liv Cashback card is usually the better default.

Your total monthly spend determines the rate applied to that entire month's eligible spend: 1% below AED 7,000, 2% from AED 7,000, and 4% from AED 15,000, capped at AED 1,500/month.

Liv markets instant redemption as cashback or Skywards Miles, but at least one documented user account describes cashback taking several days to post, and initially crediting the wrong account before Liv support corrected it.

Up to 8 lounge visits a year via Mastercard Travel Pass. Each 3-month eligibility window requires a foreign-currency transaction of at least USD 1 to activate — it isn't unconditional.

AED 15,000 per month, versus AED 5,000 for the free base Liv Cashback card.
