Two charges land on a foreign transaction: the issuer's own markup, and the card network's cross-currency charge. Almost every card advertising a 0% FX rate has zeroed only the first. FAB Travel zeroes both — its Key Facts Statement puts the international transaction fee and the scheme charge at a true 0% — and it is the only card in the catalogue that does. Sinder zeroes its own markup on the first AED 40,000 a month and settles at the Mastercard rate, so the network's charge stands. They are also different products: FAB Travel is a credit card with a credit line, an interest rate and a rewards programme; Sinder is a Mastercard Platinum debit card issued by ruya, spending money you already hold.

What each costs to spend abroad

On AED 10,000 a month of foreign currency, FAB Travel Credit Card costs AED 1,380 a year less. Two charges land on the same statement line: the issuer's own markup and the card network's cross-currency charge. A card advertising 0% has usually zeroed the first of them. One of these draws on a credit line and the other on your own balance, so cost is one part of the comparison rather than all of it.

The three summary rows are measured at AED 10,000 a month. An allowance product's rate rises once its monthly ceiling is crossed, which is what the rows above show.

Sinder Founder Card vs FAB Travel Credit Card: FAQ

Common questions about choosing between Sinder Founder Card and FAB Travel Credit Card.

FAB Travel does: its Key Facts Statement puts the international transaction fee and the scheme charges at a true 0%, with no ceiling. Sinder charges no markup of its own on the first AED 40,000 a month, then 0.5% on weekdays and 1.5% at weekends on the excess — but it settles at the Mastercard rate, so the card network's charge applies throughout.

It depends on how much you spend abroad. FAB Travel is cheaper on the foreign spend itself at every level, but costs AED 1,575 a year and needs AED 20,000 a month in salary. Sinder costs nothing to hold, so at low foreign spend the annual fee outweighs the rate difference; at high foreign spend it does not.

Only the excess is marked up — 0.5% on weekdays and 1.5% at weekends — on top of the card network's charge that applies throughout. The allowance resets each calendar month. FAB Travel has no ceiling to cross, so its rate does not change with volume.

Sinder charges 1% on international ATM withdrawals, capped at AED 25, and the local ATM operator's own fee applies separately. On a credit card like FAB Travel a cash withdrawal is a cash advance: it carries its own fee and starts accruing interest from the transaction date rather than at the end of a grace period.

FAB Travel suits someone who clears the salary bar, spends enough abroad for an uncapped waiver to outrun AED 1,575 a year, and wants a credit line with a rewards programme and a free annual flight. Sinder suits someone who wants no fee and no salary requirement, spends inside the allowance, and does not need credit.

No. It is a Mastercard Platinum debit card issued by ruya, so it spends your own money and does not build a credit line. FAB Travel is a credit card.
