Ben's Cookies MCC in the UAE

Ben's Cookies outlets mostly use MCC 5411, Grocery Stores, Supermarkets, which Kredit reads as grocery spending. Kredit has verified that code from real transaction data.

Why the MCC decides your reward at Ben's Cookies

The reward a card pays at Ben's Cookies depends on the merchant category code, not on what the shop sells. The code is a four-digit number the outlet's payment provider assigns, and your bank reads it to decide whether a payment counts as grocery spending or as general spend.

Ben's Cookies outlets mostly post under MCC 5411, Grocery Stores, Supermarkets. A card with a higher rate on grocery spending earns it there. A card whose bonus category is something else pays its base rate on the same purchase.

The code appears on your statement only after the payment posts, when the card is already chosen. Checking the outlet first moves that decision to before you pay.

The codes that most often catch UAE cardholders out are in our guide to MCC code issues.
