ADCB Call Account pays 0.1% a year on your average monthly balance, credited monthly. It opens with AED 5,000 and has no debit card or cheque book.
A call account is a holding account. Money sits in it, earns a little interest, and can be called back whenever you need it. The ADCB Call Account has no debit card and no cheque book, so you move money in and out by transfer. That is the main difference from the ADCB Savings Account, which carries a debit card. The call account also pays its interest every month instead of twice a year, and it is offered in major foreign currencies as well as dirhams. The opening amount is AED 5,000.

Not required
You do not pay a charge for the call account itself. ADCB applies one relationship fee per customer, decided by what you hold across the bank. The monthly average balance of your call account is part of the total relationship balance, together with current and savings accounts, fixed deposits and investments. Reach AED 20,000 in total and the fee is zero. A salary of AED 15,000 or more credited directly by your employer has the same effect. With a smaller salary transfer and no ADCB credit card, overdraft or loan, the fee is AED 25 a month, and for remaining Aspire customers it is AED 100.

ADCB averages what the account held across the month, so a short dip matters less here than on an account that uses the lowest balance. A month in which less than AED 15 of interest builds up on a dirham account pays nothing, and the account must still be open on the payout date.
Major Currencies
Call accounts are available in dirhams, US dollars and other major currencies.
Free E-Statements
Statements within the statement cycle are free.
Parking money you may need at short notice when you do not need a card on the account, including balances held in a major foreign currency.
You want to spend directly from the account or earn a meaningful return. A fixed deposit pays more in exchange for locking the money in.
