FAB iSave is a savings account you run entirely online. It is an add-on for people who already bank with FAB: you need an existing FAB current or savings account, and then you can open iSave instantly in the FAB Mobile app or Online Banking. It is held in UAE dirhams only.

There is no minimum balance, no monthly fee and no limit on how often you take money out. There is also no debit card and no cheque book, so iSave is where spare money sits and earns interest, while day to day spending stays on your main account, such as the FAB Personal Current Account.

Only UAE residents with a valid Emirates ID are eligible.

Fees and balance

iSave has no monthly fee and nothing is charged when the balance is low or empty. The one charge to know about is the closure fee: AED 105 if you close the account within 6 months of opening it. Leaving the account open with a small balance costs nothing, so there is no reason to close it early just because you have moved your money out.

In plain words

Annual rate
The rate is quoted for a full year. Money held for part of a year earns the matching part of it. More on this
Balance bands
The rate changes with how much you hold. Each band is a range of balance with its own rate. Each rate applies only to the part of your balance that sits inside its band, so a larger balance earns several rates at once, one for each band it fills. More on this
Which balance counts
The return is worked out on your average balance across the month, so money held for only part of the month counts in proportion. More on this
New funds
Money you add on top of what you already held with the bank. A rate marked for new funds is paid on that added amount only, not on your existing balance. More on this
Conditional rate
A rate that applies only while you meet the condition listed beside it. When the condition is not met, that rate is not paid. More on this

interest earned over time

Interest is based on your average monthly balance, which is each day's closing balance added up and divided by the days in the month. It is credited on the last day of the calendar month.

The rates are banded, and a band's rate applies only to the slice of your balance inside that band, never to the whole balance. Reaching a higher band does not change what the lower slices earn.

Good to know

Good option for

Existing FAB customers who want their spare dirhams to earn monthly interest without locking them away or keeping a minimum balance.

Consider another account if

You do not already hold a FAB current or savings account, you are not a UAE resident, or you want to save in a foreign currency. If you can leave the money untouched for a set period, a FAB Fixed Deposit fixes the rate for the term.

How the 5.6% campaign rate is paid

Until 31 December 2026, new money earns 5.6% a year. New money is the amount by which your total FAB balance rises above what you held the day before the campaign opened, so funds moved in from another FAB account or deposit do not count. The rate applies to the smaller of your new money and your average monthly iSave balance, up to AED 100 million.

You are credited the normal band interest each month. The difference up to 5.6% is paid as one amount within 45 days of the campaign ending, when it comes to more than AED 100. You must still hold an active iSave account when it is paid.
