An ADIB Amwali Goal Account is a savings pot that sits beside a child's main ADIB Amwali Account. Each goal has a specific saving purpose and is opened as its own account, so the money for it is kept apart from everyday spending money. You can create several, and they are free to open. Like the main account, a Goal Account can only be opened by the child's legal guardian or custodian through the ADIB mobile app, for a UAE-resident child aged 8 to 18. It is a Mudaraba account in its own right and not just a label inside the main account, and there is no fall-below fee if a goal's balance sits at zero.

Profit

Profit on each Amwali Goal Account is independently calculated monthly.

How your profit is worked out

Profit is worked out separately for every Goal Account, once a month, using the same terms as the ADIB Savings Account. That means the balance in one goal is not added to the balance in the main Amwali Account or in another goal when profit is calculated. Splitting savings across several goals keeps each purpose clear, but each pot is then measured for profit on its own balance.

Good to know

Good option for

Children who already use Amwali and are saving towards something specific that should stay out of reach of day-to-day spending.

Consider another account if

The child is under 8, or you want one savings pot run entirely by an adult. For that, see ADIB Banoon.

Who controls a goal, and until when

A Goal Account follows the same handover as the main account. The guardian or custodian is responsible for it while the child is a minor, and when the child reaches 18 the bank transfers operation and ownership to them, after notifying the guardian 60 days ahead.
