ADIB Investment Deposit Account is a Mudaraba term deposit from AED 10,000 for 1 to 60 months, with profit paid when the term ends. Needs an ADIB account.
An existing account with ADIB is required, such as ADIB Current Account.
ADIB Investment Deposit Account is ADIB's version of a fixed deposit. You place at least AED 10,000 for a period you choose up front, called the tenure: 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60 months. The bank invests the money under Mudaraba for that period and shares the achieved profit with you at the end. You need an existing ADIB current or savings account to open one, and the deposit itself has no card or cheque book. When the term ends you choose whether the profit is paid out to your account or added to the deposit and invested again. If you would rather keep the freedom to withdraw, the ADIB Short Term Investment Account pays monthly profit without a fixed term.

The profit rate depends on how long you commit and how much you place. Unless you tell the bank otherwise at least 15 banking days before the term ends, the deposit renews automatically on the same terms. Under Mudaraba the profit is your share of what the investment achieves.

Banking model
ADIB customers with AED 10,000 or more that they can leave untouched for the whole term.
There is a real chance you will need the money early, because leaving before maturity depends on the bank's approval. Compare savings accounts that stay open to withdrawals.
ADIB is not obliged to release the deposit before maturity. Where it agrees, the whole deposit is closed, since partial withdrawals are not accepted, and you receive a settlement amount agreed with the bank. This is called Takharuj, which means you sell your share of the investment back early for an agreed price.
