Minimum salary
AED 5,000/month

ADIB Current Account is a Sharia-compliant everyday account with a debit card and cheque book. It pays no profit and asks for a salary of AED 5,000.
ADIB Current Account is the bank's standard everyday account. You pay your salary into it, pay bills, write cheques and take out cash with a Visa debit card. It works on the Islamic principle of Qard Hasan, which here means your balance is treated as a loan you make to the bank. The bank guarantees to return it in full, and in exchange the account pays no profit. To open one you declare a monthly salary of at least AED 5,000 on the application form. The ADIB Electron Account is the version for new residents whose residency is still being processed. If you want your balance to earn profit, the ADIB Savings Account is the profit-sharing alternative.
AED 5,000/month
The balance rule looks at each day's closing balance, not a monthly average. If the closing balance drops below AED 3,000 on any day of a month, the bank charges AED 26.25 for that month. Nothing is charged in the month you open the account. Checks start in the second month, or in the third if you opened after the 20th. The fee does not apply when the account pays the instalment on an active ADIB auto, personal or home finance, or when your pension is paid into ADIB. Closing the account within 6 months of opening costs AED 105.
