ADIB Short Term Investment Account pays monthly Mudaraba profit on balances from AED 10,000 and leaves your money free to withdraw. No card or cheques.
ADIB Short Term Investment Account sits between a savings account and a fixed deposit. You need AED 10,000 to open it, your balance is invested every day, and you can still take money out when you need it. ADIB positions it as carrying a higher expected profit rate than its regular Savings Account. The trade is convenience: there is no debit or ATM card and no cheque book, so withdrawals are made on your written instruction to the bank. It is a Mudaraba account, meaning the bank invests your funds and shares the achieved profit with you. UAE nationals, residents and non-residents can open one. If you are sure you will not need the money for a set period, the ADIB Investment Deposit Account fixes it for a term instead.

Only days on which your closing balance is AED 10,000 or more count towards profit. At the end of the month ADIB takes the average of the daily closing balances for those qualifying days and uses the rate for the band that average falls in. The profit is added to the account on the first working day of the next month. A day spent under AED 10,000 does not trigger a fee. It simply earns nothing for that day.
