FAB Personal Current Account is an everyday account with a free debit card and cheque book. Keep AED 3,000 in it daily to avoid an AED 26.25 monthly fee.
The FAB Personal Current Account is the bank's standard everyday account. Your salary or other income goes in, and you spend from it with a free FAB Mastercard debit card, a cheque book and the FAB Mobile app. It pays no interest. You can hold it in UAE dirhams or in one of ten other currencies, including US dollars, pounds and euros.
There is no minimum salary and no need to move your salary to FAB. Salaried, self-employed and non-salaried people can all apply, as long as they live in the UAE and are 18 or older. If you would rather not watch a minimum balance, the FAB One Account has none, but it asks for a salary or opening deposit of AED 10,000.

The account has one balance rule. Keep at least AED 3,000 in it and it costs nothing to hold. In a month when the balance goes under AED 3,000, the bank charges AED 26.25. The AED 3,000 is a minimum daily balance, so what counts is the balance on each day, not your average across the month. A foreign currency account needs the equivalent amount in its own currency.
The AED 105 closure fee is charged only if you close the account within 6 months of opening it. Your first cheque book, of up to 10 leaves, is free. Later books cost AED 21 for 10 leaves or AED 26.25 for 25 leaves.

UAE residents who already keep AED 3,000 or more in their main account and want a cheque book, a debit card and the option of a foreign currency account, with no salary condition attached.
Your balance regularly dips under AED 3,000, because each of those months costs AED 26.25, or you want your everyday money to earn a return. You can compare accounts with no minimum balance instead.
A cheque that is returned because the account lacks funds carries a charge and is reported to the Al Etihad Credit Bureau, which lowers your credit rating and can limit future borrowing. Four or more such returns can lead the bank to close the account.
