The ADCB Islamic Special Savings Account is a Sharia-compliant savings account with two features that set it apart from the standard ADCB Islamic Savings Account. First, profit is based on your average daily balance instead of the lowest balance of the month. Second, it can be held in major foreign currencies as well as dirhams. The trade-off is access: it comes with no debit card and no cheque book, so money moves by transfer. Residents and non-residents can both open one, and the opening amount is AED 5,000.

Fees and balance

This account does not have its own monthly charge. ADCB Islamic Banking prices the customer, not the account, through a relationship fee. Add together the average balances of your current and savings accounts, your deposits and your investments. If the total is AED 20,000 or more, there is no fee. There is also none if a salary of AED 15,000 or more is credited directly, or if a smaller salary comes with a credit card or finance from ADCB Islamic Banking. Failing all three, a customer transferring a smaller salary pays AED 25 a month and other Aspire customers pay AED 100. If you close the account once 30 days have passed but before six months, the charge is AED 105.

In plain words

Fee levels
The monthly fee has more than one level. The condition you meet decides which one applies, and you pay that one level only, never the levels added together. More on this
Account closure fee
A one-off charge of AED 105 for closing the account within 6 months of opening it. Closing it later costs nothing. Closing within the first 30 days carries no charge either. More on this

In plain words

Profit rate
An Islamic account does not pay interest. It pays you a share of what the bank earns on your money. The profit rate is that share as a yearly percentage of your balance. More on this
Which balance counts
The return is worked out on the average of your daily balances, so every day's balance counts equally. More on this
Declared rate
The bank announces the profit rate for each period after the period ends. The rate shown is the one announced for Q2 2026. More on this

The calculation uses the daily net average balance, taken from each day's closing balance. A day when the balance dips reduces the average a little, where a minimum-balance account would count the dip for the whole month. Profit is not guaranteed.
