Minimum deposit
AED 5,000

DIB Al Islami Investment Deposit is a Mudaraba term deposit from AED 5,000 for 1 to 12 months, with profit declared by the bank and paid every quarter.
An existing account with DIB is required, such as DIB Al Islami Current Account.
The Al Islami Investment Deposit is a term deposit. You put in a lump sum of AED 5,000 or more, choose a tenure of 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, and leave it until that period ends. It is built on Mudaraba. You provide the money, the bank invests it in a shared pool, and the pool's net profit is split between depositors and the bank in agreed shares. That makes it different from DIB's Wakala deposits such as the Retail Wakala Deposit, where the bank quotes an expected rate when you book. Here the rate is only known once the bank declares it. The deposit can be held in dirhams, US dollars, pounds, euros or Qatari riyals, and you need a DIB current or savings account first.

Profit is paid quarterly. No profit if withdrawn before completing 30 days in the Mudaraba Pool. Later broken deposits use the applicable savings account profit rate for the actual time invested.

The figures in the table are the rates DIB declared for the second quarter of 2026. They show what the pool paid in that quarter, and a new rate is declared each quarter. When a deposit is broken after 30 days, profit is recalculated for the days actually invested at the rate that applies to broken deposits, which is tied to the savings account rate, and profit already paid above that amount is taken back from your account.

Savers who want a short, Sharia-compliant term deposit from AED 5,000, in dirhams or a foreign currency, with profit paid during the term.
You have AED 25,000 or more to place and want a rate quoted up front. DIB's Wakala deposits work that way, and their expected rates are higher than the rates declared on this deposit.
You choose in advance what happens when the term ends. The bank either reinvests the principal for another period of the same length at the rate then prevailing, or closes the deposit. To close a deposit before maturity you visit a DIB branch.
