DIB Al Islami Current Account is a Sharia-compliant everyday account that pays no profit. An average balance of AED 3,000 avoids the AED 26.25 monthly fee.
The Al Islami Current Account is DIB's everyday account for receiving money, paying bills and writing cheques. It works on Qard Hassan, which means you lend your balance to the bank free of charge. The bank guarantees that balance and repays it whenever you ask, and in return the money earns no profit and carries no investment risk. You can hold the account alone or jointly, in dirhams or in US dollars, euros, pounds, Australian dollars or Saudi riyals. If you want the same day-to-day features with profit on top, the neighbouring product is DIB's Al Islami 2-in-1 Account.

You can open the account with nothing in it. The charge to watch is the monthly maintenance fee of AED 26.25, which applies in any month when your average balance is under AED 3,000. The average is taken from the balance at the end of each day in the calendar month, so a few low days do not trigger the fee if the rest of the month is higher. The fee is waived on the one account your DIB finance instalments are paid from, and on the one account linked to a Wakala or Investment Deposit. Other accounts you hold still need the balance. Closing the account within 6 months of opening it costs AED 26.25.
