This is DIB's standard savings account. You can pay in and take money out at any time, and it comes in seven currencies: dirhams, US and Canadian dollars, euros, pounds, and Qatari and Saudi riyals. Your balance is invested under Mudaraba, a partnership in which you supply the money and the bank manages it in a pool with other depositors' funds. Each type of account is given a weighting, and the pool's net profit is divided among depositors according to that weighting and their average balance, after the bank takes its agreed share as manager. UAE nationals, residents and non-residents can apply, and the account can be opened for a minor or held jointly.

Who can open it

Accounts for minors

A parent or guardian signs consent and supplies ID with the child's papers.

Fees and balance

The account can be opened empty, and what you pay afterwards depends on your average balance. In a month when the average of your end-of-day balances is under AED 3,000, the bank charges AED 26.25. Accounts opened for minors have no balance requirement. For adults, the fee is waived on the single account that a DIB finance is repaid from or that a Wakala or Investment Deposit is linked to, and for Aayan and Wajaha customers. If you close the account in its first 6 months the bank charges AED 26.25, and closure completes only once any profit still due for the quarter has been paid.

In plain words

Fall-below fee
A monthly charge for holding less than the balance the bank asks for. Here it is AED 26.25, charged in a month when your average balance for the month is under AED 3,000. The average is taken over every day of the month, so a few low days do not trigger the fee on their own. It is not charged in a month when you stay at or above that amount. More on this
Account closure fee
A one-off charge of AED 26.25 for closing the account within 6 months of opening it. Closing it later costs nothing. More on this
Opening amount and minimum balance
The opening amount (AED 0) is what you pay in to start the account. The minimum balance is what you keep in it afterwards. More on this

In plain words

Profit rate
An Islamic account does not pay interest. It pays you a share of what the bank earns on your money. The profit rate is that share as a yearly percentage of your balance. More on this
Which balance counts
The return is worked out on your average balance across the month, so money held for only part of the month counts in proportion. More on this

The bank announces the profit rate for each period after the period ends. The rate shown is the one announced for Q2 2026. More on this

1 year

No profit is calculated for a month if the minimum balance drops below AED 1,000 or more than 1 withdrawal is made in that month.

Uses the rate declared for Q2 2026. The amount and the rate stay the same for the whole period, and the profit is paid out, not added to the balance. Try other rates

There is no fixed rate: DIB announces the profit after each quarter. Withdrawals count across both teller and electronic channels. If either profit rule is broken, the account is treated as a current account for that month and takes no part in the profit. DIB's online-only Al Islami E-Savings Account follows the same two rules and has no balance requirement.

Good to know

Good option for

Savers who leave money untouched for most of the month, need a currency other than dirhams, or want an account for a child or a joint account.

Consider another account if

You move money out of savings several times a month. More than one withdrawal cancels that month's profit, so an account built for frequent access suits you better. See other savings accounts.
