The FAB One Account is a current account in UAE dirhams with no minimum balance. Instead of interest, it earns FAB Rewards, the bank's points programme: 40 FAB Rewards for every AED 100 you spend on its free Platinum Mastercard debit card, in the UAE or abroad.

What separates it from the FAB Personal Current Account is the way in. If you are salaried, your monthly salary has to be at least AED 10,000. If you are not salaried, you open the account with a first deposit of at least AED 10,000 instead. Either route works, and you must be a UAE resident aged 18 or above.

Fees and balance

Nothing is charged for a low balance, so the account costs the same to hold whether it has AED 50 or AED 50,000 in it. The AED 10,000 figure you will see next to this account is about rewards, not fees: your balance earns points only in a month when its average is AED 10,000 or more.

FAB ATMs are free to use. At other banks' ATMs in the UAE, the first four cash withdrawals a month are free and each one after that costs AED 2.10. Closing the account within 6 months of opening costs AED 105.

Good to know

Good option for

Residents earning AED 10,000 a month or more who want a main account that never charges for a low balance and gives points on everyday card spending.

Consider another account if

Your salary is under AED 10,000 and you cannot place AED 10,000 to open, or you need a foreign currency account, since this one is dirham only. Collectors of airline miles can look at the FAB Etihad Guest Account, which has the same entry rules.

How the balance earns FAB Rewards

Besides card spending, the account earns 6 FAB Rewards for every AED 1,000 of average monthly balance, up to 80,000 FAB Rewards a month. The average is each day's closing balance added together and divided by the number of days in the month, and it has to reach AED 10,000 for the month to count.
