SavingsLIV DIGITAL BANK BY EMIRATES NBD
Liv Goal Account
No monthly fee
Interest rate: Up to 4% p.a., paid monthly
No minimum balance

A fully digital current account opened from the Liv X app in minutes, with a free debit card, instant activation, and no branch visits required.
Liv asks for this on the Contact details screen when you open your account.
The Liv Primary Account is free for most people who use it as their main account, and AED 25 a month for those who do not. Four conditions each waive the fee on their own, and only one is needed: a salary transfer of AED 5,000 or more, debit card spend of AED 2,500 or more in the month, an active Liv credit card, or an average monthly balance of AED 3,000. Students aged up to 24 pay nothing regardless.
Free Debit Card
Free debit card with unlimited withdrawals at Emirates NBD ATMs
The first debit card is free; replacements cost AED 25. Withdrawals are free at Emirates NBD and Islamic ATMs, AED 2 at other UAE ATMs, and AED 6 in GCC countries.
Liv X Mobile App
Complete digital banking with no branch visits
All banking services run through the Liv X app (iOS 9+ or Android 5.0+): statements, transfers, service requests, and spend tracking.
Quick Remittances
Free local transfers and fast international remittances
Local transfers are free. International remittances to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines cost AED 9.90, the UK AED 10, and other countries AED 20.
Instant IBAN & Account Details
Share your IBAN and SWIFT code immediately for deposits and payments
Access your IBAN and SWIFT code straight from the app for salary transfers and bill payments, no branch visit needed.
Bill Splitting
Split expenses with friends directly in the app
Divide shared costs with others in-app. Utility bill payments made through the app are free.
Aani Instant Payments
Send and receive instantly via the UAE's Aani network
Aani settles between UAE banks in seconds using a mobile number rather than an IBAN, so local transfers do not wait on a batch window.
Salary Transfer Benefits
Transferring your salary waives the fee and lifts your savings rate
A salary transfer of AED 5,000 or more waives the monthly fee. On Liv Max it also lifts the Goal Account rate from 3.5% to 4% a year on balances up to AED 500,000, and adds 0.5% to the fixed deposit rate.
Classic Plan
The default plan — AED 25 a month, or free on a AED 3,000 balance
The default plan. Goal Account savings have earned no interest since March 2026 and fixed deposits pay 2.25%, with FX at standard rates. A Liv Cashback+ card costs AED 735 to take out, and a personal loan carries a 1% processing fee.
Liv Max Plan
AED 39 a month, or free on a AED 30,000 balance
The paid upgrade, AED 39 a month. Goal Accounts earn 3.5% on the first AED 500,000, or 4% with a salary transfer. Six remittance corridors lose their bank charge, the Cashback+ joining fee is waived for a year, and the debit card becomes metal.

Goal Account — Classic
The Classic plan has paid no interest on Goal Accounts since 1 March 2026. Liv Max is what earns a rate here.
*Same rate on every tenure from 1 to 12 months. The salary-transfer uplift is credited upfront when the deposit is created.
*Same rate on every tenure from 1 to 12 months.
*Same rate on every tenure from 1 to 12 months.
Ranked by how easily people meet them, the salary transfer is first. If your employer pays you into Liv, the fee question closes permanently, and it also lifts the Goal Account rate on Liv Max from 3.5% to 4%. Card spend is second: AED 2,500 a month is a normal grocery-and-fuel figure for a single person, but it resets every month, so a quiet month means a charge. The balance route is third, because AED 3,000 sitting idle is the most expensive way to buy a fee waiver. The credit card route is last, since taking a card to avoid AED 300 a year only makes sense if you wanted the card anyway.
If you do end up paying the fee, check the Liv Max plan first: at AED 39 a month it replaces the AED 25 rather than adding to it, so the real cost of the upgrade is AED 14.

The account is a poor fit for two groups. If you are self-employed or paid from abroad, no salary transfer will land, so you rely on card spend or a held balance every month. If you want a second account for a specific purpose, such as holding money aside or receiving occasional transfers, the fee applies to a balance doing nothing, and a fee-free savings account fits better.
The AED 3,000 is not a minimum balance. Nothing has to be held to open or keep the account, and Liv will not close it if the balance reaches zero. Several comparison sites publish the AED 2,500 card-spend condition as a minimum balance, which is a different number for a different thing. The only consequence of a low balance here is the AED 25, and only if none of the other three conditions is met.
