ruya Current Account is a Sharia-compliant everyday account with no monthly fee, no minimum balance and no salary rule. Opened in the app with UAE PASS.
The ruya Current Account is an Islamic account for everyday banking: receiving money, paying, withdrawing cash and making transfers. It works on a Qard Hasan basis. That means your money is placed with the bank as a deposit that earns no profit, and you can withdraw it whenever you want. If you want your balance to earn profit, the ruya Savings Account is the product for that.
ruya is a digital bank. You open the account in the ruya app with an active UAE PASS. You must be at least 18 and a UAE resident. No opening deposit, minimum balance or salary is required. A debit card is issued if you apply for one, and the account comes with a cheque book.

There is no monthly fee on this account, whatever your balance and whether or not your salary is paid into it. The charge to know about is for closing early: AED 105 if you close the account within 6 months of opening it. That fee does not apply if you change your mind and cancel within 5 working days of opening. One cheque book is free, and the bank charges for additional ones.

Keep enough money in the account to cover any cheque you write. If four or more of your cheques are returned unpaid for lack of funds in a calendar year, ruya can close the account, and returned cheques can lead to a negative report to the credit bureau.
