Wio Personal is an app-only current account in AED, USD, EUR and GBP. The plan you pick, Standard, Plus, Salary or Family, sets the monthly fee.
Wio Personal is a current account you open and run entirely in the Wio Personal app. Wio has no branches. You get an account number and IBAN for local and international transfers, and you can hold AED, USD, EUR and GBP accounts side by side. A cheque book is available on request for the AED account only.
Every customer has the same account. What changes is the plan you subscribe to: Standard, Plus, Salary or Family. The plan sets your monthly fee, your daily transfer limit and whether your Wio Saving Spaces earn interest. You can switch plan in the app, once a month.

Newcomers can apply with a passport and UAE work visa before the Emirates ID is issued.
The fee depends on your plan, and each plan has its own way to pay nothing.
The average is counted over the calendar month, across your current accounts, Saving Spaces and investments held with Wio added together. Wio checks it at the end of the month and charges the fee at the start of the next one.

People who want to run their banking from an app and can either keep AED 3,000 with Wio or transfer a salary of AED 15,000. It also suits newcomers who need an IBAN before their Emirates ID arrives.
You want a branch, or an account that stays free whatever your balance and salary. See accounts with no minimum balance.
When you choose the Salary Plan you get Plus Plan benefits while your salary transfer is being set up. Once your first salary is credited, the Salary Plan and its rates apply. If no salary arrives by the end of the second full month, you stay on Plus and the Plus fee rules apply. The salary must come through the Wage Protection System or another route Wio accepts.
You can apply before you have an Emirates ID, using your passport and UAE work visa, even while you are still abroad. The AED account and virtual cards work straight away, so your employer can pay your first salary into your new IBAN. Upload your Emirates ID within 60 days of arrival to get a physical debit card and a cheque book.
