ADCB Current Account is an everyday dirham account for UAE residents, with a debit card and cheque book. It opens with AED 5,000 and no minimum salary.
The ADCB Current Account is the bank's everyday account in dirhams. Your salary can be paid into it, and you spend from it by debit card, cheque, transfer or bill payment. It pays no interest, so it suits money you plan to use, not money you plan to keep. Only UAE residents can open one, and the opening amount is AED 5,000. Once you hold it, ADCB lets you add interest-paying accounts beside it, such as the Active Saver or the Super Saver.

The monthly fee is a relationship fee. ADCB looks at everything you hold with the bank and places you, as one customer, in a single fee tier. It does not price each account separately. You pay nothing in a month when any one of three things is true: your total relationship balance is AED 20,000 or more, your employer pays a salary of AED 15,000 or more directly into an ADCB account, or a smaller salary arrives and you also hold an ADCB credit card, overdraft or loan. A smaller salary with none of those products costs AED 25 a month. Any other customer in the Aspire segment pays AED 100. The relationship balance adds your fixed deposits and investments to the monthly average balance of your current, savings and call accounts.

Residents who will have their salary paid to ADCB, or who keep AED 20,000 or more across the bank, and want a cheque book and debit card on one account.
You would hold a low balance with no salary transfer, because the monthly fee then reaches AED 100. Residents earning AED 5,000 or less can look at the ADCB Universal Account, which costs AED 2 a month.
Closing within 30 days of opening is free. From day 31 until six months after opening, ADCB charges AED 105 to close. The bank can also close the account itself, for example when it sits at a zero balance with no activity for 90 consecutive days, or when four or more of your cheques are returned unpaid in one calendar year.
