A salary certificate is not the only way to prove your income.
See cardsLast updated:
An app-first bank can read the salary history in the account it already holds for you. A card the bank processes automatically is assessed from the income you enter and the IBAN your salary is paid into — and that account does not have to be with the bank you are applying to. The AECB check, the affordability assessment and the bank's decision are unchanged either way.
A side-by-side snapshot of annual fees, salary requirements, and standout benefits.

If your salary is already paid into an account at the bank you are applying to, that bank can see the credits itself. Any UAE bank may take that into account, so it is worth asking the one you already use. The cards listed here do not depend on it: their issuer has a route that does not use a paper certificate at all.
One bank can ask for different documents depending on the card. A card sent through the branch or website flow is assessed on the documents that flow asks for, including a salary certificate; a card the bank processes automatically is assessed from the income you enter and the IBAN your salary is paid into. The cards listed here are the automatic ones.
If you don't receive a monthly salary (self-employed, business owner, freelance), banks typically ask for a trade license, 6-12 months of bank statements showing income, and sometimes tax returns. Salary certificate substitutes don't apply — different documentation entirely.
Using internal salary records instead of a paper certificate does not bypass identity verification, affordability assessment, or the credit-bureau check. Final approval and the credit limit remain the issuing bank's decision.

Always confirm the latest eligibility details with the issuing bank before applying.
Prepare these before you start an application. Some banks accept digital uploads; others require originals at a branch.
Self-employed applicants are assessed on a trade licence and business bank statements instead. Identity, affordability and AECB checks apply to every application, and approval remains the bank's decision.
